On Wednesday 6th September , the Producers’ Forum will be holding the second event in the trilogy of seminars dedicated to the sales, marketing and distribution of feature films. Once again, the event will be hosted by Essentia, with Carl Clifton (ex. Universal Pictures International, Film Four) and Tom Strudwick (ex, Metro Goldwyn Mayer) running two seminars focusing on the changing face of film distribution.
Distribution Case Study, Laurence Gornall (Head of Marketing , The Works Distribution) will give a presenation on a recent or forthcoming film, covering positioning, marketing, publicity, booking, P&A budgets and box office results.
Panel Discussion / Q&A Leading theatrical and home entertainment distributors look at the ways in which the marketplace and distribution practice are changing. What makes a viable theatrical film? The importance of DVD? How does the fractured TV landscape effect film distribution ? Is the internet becoming a real alternative to traditional media? Are traditional windows closing for good?
