This two week long exhibition showcases work created across a variety of media by young people aged 3- 19 from 41 schools in Birmingham. In keeping with Creative Partnerships’ participatory ethos, the exhibition will be curated by a group of secondary school pupils who are the first cohort of Ikon galleries ‘Young Curators’ – a CP sponsored scheme. During the two week period young people from the schools will take part in daily sessions creating work in response to their peers exhibitions. The exhibition will be formally opened on the evening of July 11th by Sandy Nairn, Director of the National Portrait Gallery. The show is funded by CP and supported by UCE, who donate the space.
