Is Birmingham a model of European urbanism?
The ‘Reinventing the City Through Partnership’ conference, to be hosted by Birmingham City Council, will bring together leading French and British urban planning professionals to debate this question.
Birmingham will be the first UK city to engage with this ongoing European programme of exploration and celebration of the regeneration and renaissance of European cities.
The two-day event is intended to generate an exciting and creative analysis and exchange of ideas on the past, present and future regeneration of Birmingham city centre and its vibrant urban villages, and will include city tours and bi-lingual workshops, drawing together around 200 French delegates, City Council officers and elected members as well as other urbanist professionals and students from the Birmingham region.
The conference will produce a publication of its findings that will be available internationally.
