The youth Arts training programme continues this year with Inernational links with Birmingham’s sister city – Chicago.

GALLERY 37 2006

Gallery 37 is an arts training programme, which has been running every summer in the city centre since 1998. In 2006 the project will be taking place at Island House on Fazeley Street, the new home of Gallery 37, from 7th to 25th August.

During the week the artistically inclined, both young and old, work as Apprentice Artists, alongside professional artists. Activities include both visual and performing arts, with projects developed in close collaboration with the city’s leading arts organisations.

Many handcrafted items made during the programme are available to buy in the on-site shop and performances are staged at key arts venues across the city.

A taste of what Gallery 37 has to offer can be seen as part of the ‘Chicago Week’ celebrations, running in the city from 21st to 25th June. Gallery 37 visual arts workshops will be taking place under canvas in Victoria Square.
